This year's 46th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine revealed on Thursday that manga creator Jun Mayuzuki (After the Rain) will launch a new manga titled Kowloon Generic Romance in the magazine's 49th issue on November 7.
Mayuzuki's previous manga was After the Rain (seen right), which launched in Shogakukan's Monthly Big Comic Spirits magazine in 2014 and transferred to Weekly Big Comic Spirits in early 2016, where it serialized a new chapter every other week until it ended in March 2018. Shogakukan published the manga's 10th and final volume in April 2018. Vertical licensed the manga, and it shipped the fifth volume on September 17.
<!–The manga won the Best General Manga award at the 63rd Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2018. The manga was nominated for the ninth Manga Taisho awards in 2016, and was ranked #4 in the 2016 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook.–>
The manga's 12-episode television anime adaptation premiered in January 2018 on the Noitamina programming block on Fuji TV. The show streamed exclusively on Amazon Prime Video inside and outside of Japan.
