This year's 47th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Riichirou Inagaki and Boichi's Dr. Stone manga will have a spinoff manga titled Dr. Stone reboot: Byakuya that will debut in the magazine's next issue on October 28. The manga will focus on the character Byakuya Ishigami. Inagaki and Boichi are credited with the original work, and Boichi is credited with the art and story of the spinoff.

The manga will run in the magazine alongside the main Dr. Stone series. The run of both the main manga and the spinoff manga in the magazine will be a first for Weekly Shonen Jump.

Viz Media describes the original manga's first volume:

One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he's not alone! His science-loving friend Senku's been up and running for a few months and he's got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!

Boichi (Sun-Ken Rock) and Inagaki (author of Eyeshield 21) launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2017. Shueisha published the 12th compiled volume on September 4. Viz Media publishes the manga digitally and in print.

The manga is inspiring a television anime adaptation that premiered on July 5 and is currently airing. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs, and Funimation is streaming a simuldub of the anime.
