Media and telecommunications company Dwango announced on Monday that it has established a new CG animation brand named "TUNEDiD," along with an accompanying animation studio named "TUNEDiD film," as well as a new motion capture studio named "TUNEDiD studio." Dwango describes TUNEDiD studio as the largest motion capture studio in Tokyo.

Dwango established the new brand in order to meet the increasing demands of 3D CG animation in anime, games, and live events. The new motion capture studio utilizes 54 motion capture cameras and the latest software, and can capture more than 10 different actors' motions.

Yoshishige Matsuno (SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors, Love Live!) and Seiki Hayashi (Zoids Genesis, Battle Spirits: Shōnen Toppa Bashin) are the CG supervisors at TUNEDiD film. Kouichirou Satou (Pokémon anime series) is the CG composite editing supervisor. Live event venue Nicofarre founder Ryūji Tomonaga is the motion capture supervisor. Tomoaki Okada (Banner of the Stars, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Maquia design work) is the concept designer.

Dwango, alongside animation Studio Khara, media company Kadokawa, entertainment agency INCS toenter, and media company Asobi System Holdings, established a new production studio named Lide last December. The studio's first project was the Virtual-san wa Miteiru (Virtualsan-Looking) television anime about virtual YouTubers or VTubers — characters popularized via videos on streaming services and user-generated content sites. The anime premiered on January 9.
