This year's fourth issue of Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine published the final chapter of Etorouji Shiono's Übel Blatt manga on Monday. The chapter revealed that Shiono is currently preparing a new work, but did not reveal any other details.
Übel Blatt's story follows the half-human boy named Koinzell who was sent to battle the Emperor's enemies with the rest of the "Fourteen Lances." Betrayed by his comrades and left for dead, Koinzell goes on a quest for revenge against the Lances who were wrongly proclaimed as the "Seven Heroes."
Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine began serializing the manga in 2004. In 2011, a side story manga called Übel Blatt Gaiden ran in Young Gangan Big, the spinoff of the Young Gangan. After a two-year hiatus, the main series returned to Big Gangan magazine in 2011. The 22nd compiled volume shipped in Japan last September. The 23rd volume will ship in June.
Yen Press licensed the manga in North America and released the 11th omnibus volume in English last September.
