Funimation has announced that it has added several new anime titles in the U.K. and Ireland. They are When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace (available here), Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals (here), Hanayamata (here), DRAMAtical Murder (here) and Trinity Seven (here).
When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace adapts Kota Nozomi's Inou Battle Within Everyday Life (Inō-Battle wa Nichijō-kei no Naka de/INOU-Battle in the Usually Daze.) novel series. In the original novel series' story, the five members of the literature club awakened with extraordinary powers half a year ago. Although the members expected to be thrown into a world of super-powered battles (inō-battle) at their school, their normal daily routine continued. No secret organizations bent on world destruction, no super-powered wars, no braves or demon kings.
Masanori Takahashi directed the series at animation Studio Trigger with series composition by Masahiko Otsuka. Satoshi Yamaguchi designed the characters for the anime, and Elements Garden provided the music.
The Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals (Naruto SD: Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden) anime adapts Kenji Taira's Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden gag comedy manga, which centered on the secondary Naruto character Rock Lee. The "SD" in the title stands for "Sugoi Doryoku," or "Super Determined." ("SD" traditionally means "super-deformed.")
The 12-episode series Hanayamata premiered in July 2014.14-year-old Naru Sekiya is just ordinary in every way. Naru leads an ordinary day-to-day life even as she adores "heroines." She embarks on a path to an unordinary world called "Yosakoi" dance, guided by an exotic fairylike girl she met one moonlit evening.
Atsuko Ishizuka (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, No Game, No Life) directed the anime at the Studio Madhouse. Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Girls und Panzer, Tamako Market) wrote and supervised the scripts, and Atsuko Watanabe (GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class, Juden Chan, The Everyday Tales of a Cat God) designed the characters.
Sentai Filmworks, which released DRAMAtical Murder in America, describes the series:
"Nothing on Midorijima has been the same since the powerful Toue Konzern forced the original population into the Old Residential District and converted the rest of the island into the exclusive resort Platinum Jail. Despite that, Aoba Seragaki has tried to build a normal life for himself, working part-time in a junk shop and hanging out with his friends and his A.I. "pet" AllMate, Ren.
"But when Aoba is drawn into the shady underworld that surrounds the popular virtual game Rhyme, the universe that he thought he knew falls apart. If deja vu describes the sensation of experiencing something that you think you may have done before, what is it called when other people seem to recognize you for doing things that you don't remember doing? All Aoba knows is that there are gaps in his memory, people are disappearing, and a secret buried in his own mind may be the only keys to revelation."
Trinity Seven is "romantic comedy but sometime serious magical school story" in which a bizarre incident known as "Collapse Phenomenon," causes worldwide destruction and takes Arata Kasuga's cousin Hijiri Kasuga to the next world. To resolve the "Collapse Phenomenon" and bring back Hijiri, Arata enrolls in the Royal Biblia Academy. Waiting in the school are seven beautiful female magic users — the Trinity Seven.
Hiroshi Nishikiori (Azumanga Daioh, A Certain Magical Index) directed the series, and Hiroyuki Yoshino (Magi, Vividred Operation) was in charge of series composition. Shinpei Tomooka (Sekirei, Day Break Illusion) served as both character designer and chief animation director. Kyoko Kotani also served as chief animation director. TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND composed the music and Seven Arcs Pictures (Mushibugyō) handled animation production.
