IDOLiSH7 Anime Season 2 Reveals Staff, 2020 Premiere, Visual

The "IDOLiSH7 2nd Live 'Reunion'" concerts unveiled the main staff, the 2020 premiere, and a teaser visual for the second IDOLiSH7 anime season in Saitama's MetLife Dome this weekend. The visual highlights the full-fledged appearance of the idol group Re:vale in the new season.

Makoto Bessho (Shangri-La, Armitage: Dual-Matrix) is returning to direct the new season at TROYCA, and Ayumi Sekine (Makura no Danshi, Fate/Grand Order: First Order) is back as the series script supervisor. Also credited as returning are supervisor Ei Aoki (Fate/Zero, Aldnoah.Zero), original character designer Arina Tanemura (Full Moon O Sagashite manga creator), animation character designer Kazumi Fukagawa (Inari Kon Kon, GLASSLIP animation director), and at least one of the chief animation directors, Masami Inomata.

The advance screening version of the IDOLiSH7 television anime's first two episodes opened in 79 theaters in Japan and began streaming in Japan on November 3, 2017. Crunchyroll began streaming the episodes worldwide outside Asia on the same day. <!–The first two episodes also screened early at Anime NYC in the United States on November 18, 2017. –>The first two episodes then aired together as a special that premiered on Tokyo MX on January 1, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. The remaining 15 of the 17 episodes began running in Japan on January 7, 2018.

A group of aspiring idols gather at Takanashi Productions and are entrusted with the company's future. The seven men who have just met represent a variety of totally different personalities. However, they each have their own charm and possess unknown potential as idols. Forming a group, they take their first step together as "IDOLiSH7." Their brilliantly shining dancing forms onstage eventually begin captivating the hearts of the people. In the glorious but sometimes harsh world of idols, they aim for the top with dreams in their hearts!

The cast members for the IDOLiSH7 and TRIGGER idol groups reprised their roles from the original IDOLiSH7 game for the first anime season. <!–Makoto Bessho (Shangri-La, Armitage: Dual-Matrix) directed the season at Troyca.
