It seems James Bond, the world’s most well-known international spy, has jumped in the bandwagon and gone earth-friendly as well.

According to Autonews.com, Daniel Craig will be driving the USD330,000 Rapide E. It’s the first-ever electric car that will be used in any James Bond movie.

According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, it was the movie’s director, Cary Joji Fukunaga, who made the decision to go environment-friendly in the next Bond film.

“Everybody is afraid of Bond getting labeled ‘too PC’ (politically correct), but they all felt the time was right to put him in a zero emission vehicle,” the insider was quoted as saying.

Daniel Craig will be playing Bond for the fifth time in the series. This will be the last time he will play the secret agent.

The Rapid E is an all-electric version of the Rapid E, and slated to compete directly with Porsche’s Taycan electric sports car. The company confirmed its production the 2018 Frankfurt Motor Show, and revealed that it would start production in the fourth quarter of 2019.

It will be powered by a 65 kWh battery supplied by HyperBat Limited, which is a new joint venture between WAE and Unipart manufacturing group. The 800-volt battery will contain 5,600 lithium-ion electric cells, and would be fitted in the engine bay along with two electric motors supplied by Integral Powertrain at the rear. Both motors will use an Xtrac transmission that features a limited-slip differential. There will be  new suspension system that will be used to better cope with the changes in the drive train.
