This year's April issue of Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine revealed on Friday that the Kedama no Gonjiro anime based on the "Gonjiro" mascot character will premiere on April 6 at 10:00 a.m. on TV Tokyo and its affiliates.
The magazine also announced that a smartphone game in the franchise titled Kedama no Gonjiro: Fit and Run will launch on April 20. The franchise is also getting a set of collectible buttons as merchandise on April 20.
Yasunari Nagatoshi launched the Kedama no Gonjiro manga in the October issue of Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine on September 15.
Sony revealed the mascot character at a press conference in September 2017. The character is a collaboration between Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sony Music Entertainment, Aniplex, and Shogakukan.
