MANILA – A magnitude 4.8 aftershock struck the town of Tulunan, Cotabato Sunday afternoon following last Wednesday's deadly earthquake, according to Phivolcs.
The tremor struck at 4:55 p.m. approximately 25 kilometers southeast of Tulunan town, with a depth of 1 kilometer, Phivolcs said.
The quake was felt as Intensity V in Koronadal City. This is classified by Phivolcs as strong and is characterized by strong shaking and rocking felt throughout buildings.
Intensity III meanwhile was felt in Malungon, Sarangani while Intensity II was felt in Kiamba, Sarangani and Kidapawan City.
The tremor follows last Wednesday's magnitude 6.3 quake, which killed 7 and left more than 60 injured.
Hundreds of aftershocks followed Wednesday's earthquake, with some as strong as magnitude 5.3 and 5.2.
The towns of M'lang and Makilala, both in Cotabato, have also been placed under a state of calamity.
