Manila has logged 15 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), raising the total to 659 cases, the city public information office said Tuesday.

The city government said 90 patients have recovered from the disease, while 60 others have died.

Sampaloc has the most number of active cases of COVID-19 with 103, followed by Tondo 1 with 81, and Tondo 2 at 51.

The number of probable cases in the city is at 11 while the suspected cases is at 955.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno earlier placed Sampaloc district under hard lockdown to give way to "disease surveillance verification or testing and rapid risk assessment in relation to COVID-19."

The national government has extended the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other parts of the country for another two weeks while placing other areas under general community quarantine.

The Philippines has recorded 7,958 coronavirus disease cases as of Tuesday, with 530 deaths and 975 recoveries.
