MANILA – Manila Water on Sunday released a partial list of barangays that have already been validated as "severely affected" by the water supply crisis earlier this month.
Consumers in the severely affected barangays will be given a full bill waiver for their March consumption.
The company has validated the following barangays as severely affected:
Addition Hills in Mandaluyong
Barangka Drive in Mandaluyong
Plainview in Mandaluyong
Highway Hills in Mandaluyong
Hulo in Mandaluyong
Kapitolyo in Pasig
Bagong Ilog in Pasig
Oranbo in Pasig
Upper Bicutan in Taguig
Mambog in Binangonan
Manila Water said around 152,000 households will be receiving a full waiver for their March consumption. This will be reflected on their April bill.
The company also said they are looking at around 44 barangays identified as several affected. There are several barangays, however, in which only certain portions are eligible for the full bill waiver program, since some areas within the same barangay had water supply coming from other reservoirs.
Consumers from said areas will still receive a waiver for the first 10 cubic meters of their March consumption, to be deducted in their April bill.
Manila Water also clarified the full waiver will not apply to any previous unpaid amount of the customer.
