Microsoft announced a new "All-Digital Edition" for its Xbox One S console that will launch on May 7 for US$249.99 (US$50 cheaper than the regular Xbox One S). The game will have no optical disc drive, but will have a one-terabyte hard drive, and will ship with the Minecraft, Forza Horizon 3 and Sea of Thieves games. Microsoft reports that the new edition will be available at "select retailers worldwide," but Microsoft has not yet updated its Japanese website with it.

Microsoft launched the original Xbox One console in 2013. The Xbox One S version, which added 4K video playback and game resolution upscaling, as well as HDR support, launched in August 2016. The Xbox One X version, which added native 4K game rendering, released in November 2017.
