MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Friday 35 more of its personnel contracted COVID-19, raising the total tally of infections in the organization to 1,796.
Official figures from the PNP showed that the number of those who recovered from COVID-19 went up by 2 to 689.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the police force raised to 10, with an additional fatality reported Friday.
The 205,000-strong organization is also monitoring 720 probable carriers of the virus. Some 2,479 others are under observation for suspicion of having caught the disease.
To date, the Philippines has recorded 76,444 coronavirus infection, of whom 50,063 are considered active cases.
The tally includes 1,879 people who succumbed to COVID-19 while 24,502 have recovered from the disease.
