A portion of the Magallanes Interchange will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Monday, April 1.
The road closure will commence as part of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA)‘s traffic management plan to address traffic problems and vehicular accidents in the area.
The left turning ramp from Manila to Cubao of the Magallanes Interchange will be closed off to vehicles starting at 6 AM.
Around 7,722 vehicles traverse the interchange from Manila to EDSA Northbound while 19,304 vehicles traverse from EDSA to Nichols (South Superhighway) that crisscross in the said portion, based on the MMDA Traffic Engineering Center‘s vehicular volume count.
A total of 360 road crash incidents in 2017 and 292 road crash incidents in 2018 along Magallanes Interchange were tallied by the MMDA Road Safety Unit.
Affected users are advised to take the Magallanes Loop outside Magallanes Village.
