4 wounded, perpetrators unknown
MANILA — A soldier and 3 others were killed by unknown gunmen in the southern province of Basilan, the military said Saturday.
An undetermined number of assailants fired at the victims in Barangay Bohe Lebbung, Tipo-Tipo town around 9:30 p.m. Friday, said the military's Western Mindanao Command.
The fatalities included a soldier who is part of a "cadre" or unit responsible for military training, as well as 2 militiamen and a civilian.
The incident wounded 2 other militiamen and 2 civilians.
No other detail was immediately available.
The killing comes almost a week after 4 soldiers died at the hands of policemen in neighboring Jolo, Sulu.
